In July 2024, Kerala witnessed the deadliest landslide that took place in Wayanad, leading to a massive loss of lives and livelihoods, physical and environmental assets, leaving pondering once again about Environment and Development. Keeping the Wayanad landslides at the backdrop, INSEE is organising an online Panel Discussion on "Environment and Development: Thinking Beyond the Binary in the Backdrop of the Wayanad Landslide"
Recognizing the need to enhance dialogue among PhD researchers who are members of INSEE and work in the interdisciplinary fields of ecology, economy, and society, INSEE has initiated a PhD Scholars’ Talk Series. This series aims to provide a platform for young scholars to showcase their work, receive feedback from peers, exchange ideas, and build networks. Additionally, the initiative seeks to engage young researchers with the Society in a more meaningful way.
