Climate Change: Understanding Local and Regional Issues and the Need for Global Cooperation

The second webinar of the INSEE PhD Scholars’ Talk Series, held on 21 April 2025, was around the theme "Community and Ecosystem". Two INSEE members, Ajith Raj and Kritishnu Sanyal spoke about their research around the webinar theme, shared their publication experiences, and interacted with the audience. Ajith is a graduate student in the Transdisciplinary Sustainability program at Memorial University’s Grenfell Campus. He shared his work on the pole and line fishers to support the co-management of local fisheries in Lakshadweep. His research focuses on the political economy of the blue economy and the future of sustainable ocean infrastructure for island communities. conservation NGO in India. Kritishnu is a graduate student at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, India. He presented his work on the perception of the village community about the forest ecosystem services in Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh.
